Extra Grip Infiltration Sealing Tape

Boa-Tape™ is a pressure sensitive taping system designed to seal joints against ground water infiltration, encapsulate manholes or vaults and protect pipelines. The 50 mil. elasticomeric mastic in combination with 15 mils. of a woven polypropylene makes this tape extra-extra sticky.

Typical Specification

1.0 Scope
Apply PSI Pressure Sensitive Primerless Boa-Tape on exterior concrete manholes or other structures at locations indicated by the Engineer to protect manhole and mitigate infiltration/exfiltration of water and other contaminates. Boa-Tape™ shall be applied over a dust-free, dry concrete surface. The Boa-Tape™ system shall be as manufactured by Pipeline Seal and Insulator, Inc, Houston, Texas to ISO 9001:2008 standards.

2.0 Tape - Woven Polypropylene Membrane with Elastomeric Adhesive
The pressure applied Boa-Tape™ shall consist of a 4 inch, 6 inch or 12 inch wide wrap-around tape system 65 mils. thick with a 15 mil. membrane and 50 mils. of integrated primer and elastomeric adhesive. Peel strength shall be a minimum of 12.5 lb./in., per ASTM D 1000. Tensile strength shall be 75 lbs/inch width. Mastic softening point shall meet or exceed 240 degrees F +/- 10 % in accordance with ASTM E-28. Water Absorption shall be less than .5% per ASTM D 570.

3.0 Warranty
All products are warranted against failure caused by manufacturing defects for a period of one year. Any product found to be so defective and returned within one year from date of shipment will be replaced without charge. The above warranty is made in lieu of, and we disclaim, any and all other warranties, expressed or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and buyer agrees to accept the products without any such warranties. We hereby disclaim any obligation or liability for consequential damages, labor costs or any other claims or liabilities of any kind whatsoever.





Quick and Simple Installation

1. Clean all exterior surfaces of the manhole with a brush or broom to remove any loose cement, dust or small rock particles.

2. Remove 8" (20cm) of release backing and position exposed tape surface on cleaned seam area. Expose 8" (20cm) of tape at a time by pulling release backing away from mastic as tape is wrapped around the entire circumference of the manhole, vault or pipe.

3. Carefully cut the Boa-Tape™ when applying over cast iron manhole gussets. Gently mold the tape around gussets with roller/gloved hand.

Riser-Wrap® for extreme applications of potential water infiltration into manholes and vaults.
The RiserWrap® is a two-layer system designed for providing corrosion protection and for sealing and encapsulating concrete structures such as manholes and vaults. The first layer is a visco-elastic adhesive liquid sealant covered by a heat shrink sleeve. This creates a thick walled 0.098" (2.5mm) cross-linked high density polyethylene membrane to protect against ground water infiltration.

Boa-Tape™ now meets the pressure requirements of ASTM C877*. With no need for primers and torches, Boa-Tape can be used for the repair-rehabilitation of manholes, pipelines, step-down joints, square and rectangular vaults. Boa-Tape has also been successful in applications to fix cracked couplings, reinforce push-on joints and short term repair gravity flow lines. With this test documentation Boa-Tape can now be used to augment Riser-Wrap® for manhole riser sealing and encapsulation. Attached is the test report for your and our customers.
